Youth Rodeo
presented by The Old Greer County Western Heritage Association, Mangum
Mountie Arena in Mangum on July 12 starting at
6:30 p.m. Boys and girls will compete against each other in
three age groups: 7-11, 12-14 and 15-19. Buckles will be awarded for first
place in each age group with trophies for second and third place.
Added money is planned for Calf Roping and Bull Riding. Events open to all
three age groups will include Goat Tying, Pole Bending, Break-away Roping,
Barrel Racing, Team Roping, and Calf Daubing. Mutton Busting and Calf Riding
will be open to contestants who weigh under 70 pounds. There will be Steer
Riding for ages 9-11; Junior Bull Riding for ages 12-14 and Senior Bull
Riding for ages 15-19. There will be a free Stick Horse Race for age 5 and
under, and free Calf Scramble for age 10 and under. Prizes will be
given in each of these two events with the Calf Scramble featuring five $20
ribbons up for grabs. Books open for entries two weeks before the rodeo and

Days and the National Cowboy Day, Bristow, OK. Rodeo on Friday and
Saturday nights at 8:00, Parade on Saturday morning, 10:00 am (Sign in
table, 8:00 am). Awards will be given for 1st and 2nd
place in the following divisions: Best Dressed Riding Club, Best
Maintained Antique Auto, Best Home-made Float, Best Commercial Float, Best
Horse Drawn Wagon or Buggy. After the parade, celebrate National
Cowboy Day at the Bristow City Park with festivities all day long. For
