May 20 Spring Buckle Series, indoor arena at the Bryan County Fair Grounds, Durant, OK. This is an Open All Breed Show.  It’s not often you get to show for buckles for each individual class.  Our goal is to host a fun show and draw in tough competition for our 4H Show Team to watch and learn from.  As well as provide an opportunity for our youth judging team to practice looking at quality competitors.   We are currently interviewing applicant AQHA judges that have applied for their card and are seeking experience so this is going to be a quality show series.  We are also working on getting sponsors for highpoint awards for each show. May 27 4-H Trail Ride Howe Ranch, Sulphur, OK. Rain or Shine, SIGN IN – 8:00 A.M. – RIDERS LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 9:00 A.M. In the Arbuckle Mountains on the 3500 acre historic Howe Ranch.  Riders check in at ranch headquarters 15 miles south of Sulphur on US Highway 177.  Watch for sign on side of Highway.  (From south, ranch is 10 miles north of Dickson) COST:  $15.00 per person. This includes a lunch of smoked brisket on a bun with beans, chips and a drink. Money must accompany each reservation slip and be returned to the Murray County Extension office no later than May 19, 2017 (please complete the medical release form on the back of registration form.)  If fee is not paid by due date cost will be $20.00 at the gate. We are fortunate to be able to offer a trail ride on Pat Howe’s 3500 acre beautiful and historic ranch. November 5 Oklahoma Eventing Circuit Combined Training Show, Celtic Cross Equestrian Center 14100 E Cedar Ln Norman OK 73026, Once a Rider/Horse Combination enters one of the shows that is part of the Oklahoma Eventing Circuit, they are eligible for year end awards. Champion and Reserve Champion prizes along with 1st - 6th place ribbons will be awarded to horse/rider combinations based upon points earned during the calendar year at horse trials or combined tests held at the following facilities. An overall Rider of the Year Award for both Seniors and Juniors will be awarded.
