Sulphur, OK. Rock Creek Multi-use Trail. Hwy 7 in Sulphur take 12 St. South to the recreation area. Turn right on first road. No equestrian Camp ground. Park officials may arrange overnight for groups.

Hwy 38 N. of Jet OK. George Sibley Trail (multi-use) Campground, electricity, RV sites, picket posts, water, comfort station, pavilion.

Lake Murray State Park, Ardmore ( 580) 223-4044 / Park Office
They have a barn to stable the horses. There are electric and water hook-ups. Bathrooms with showers and really nice trails. The only thing is the trails are not well marked. Also it is located in the field trial area. You need to call in advance to make sure they are not having field trial runs.

McGee Creek State Park (580) 889-5822
N.E. of Atoka and N. of Farris OK off Hwy 3 Permit system, both full day and overnight available. Primitive campground near the entrance of the NSRA.

Robbers Cave State Park (918)465-2565
Wilburton, OK. Developed by OETRA members and maintained by them. This trail is located in the San Bois Mountains. Wildlife Management Area closed

N. of Watonga. OK. (Multi-use) Primitive campsites with nearby comfort station and water provided. Corrals available for rent and cabins close by.

E. of Cleveland and N. of Keystone, Sand Plum Trail (multi-use) users are
advised to stay on designated trails, quicksand may occur along portions of the lakeshore. Electricity, RV,  water, picnic tables, grills, picket posts, comfort station.

WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT EQUESTRIAN TRAILS

Eagle View Trail (580)762-5611
Kaw Lake, Eagle View Trail (multi-use) named for the bald eagles which winter there. Excellent view of these birds near the trail Nov-Feb. Prairie grasslands and oak-hickory forest. Camping in public use areas only.

camping, comfort station, wash rack, water, picket poles, pavilion to reserve. Reservation System 1-877- 444-6777.

Platter-Lakeside Trail (903)465-4990 www.recreation.gov (reservations)
Lake Texoma, (multi-use) Primitive camping available at both ends of the trail.
Can be accessed from either Platter or Lakeside Recreation Areas. Platter Flats also has an equestrian campground (not restricted to horses) with electric, water - shared between sites so bring a Y adapter. Future plans include to add corrals. Trails are not marked but future plans include marking trails and mapping trails. Primitive camping also available. There is also a modern bath/showerhouse.

Pushmataha Wildlife Management Area (918)569-4329
S.W. of Clayton, OK  2 1/2 miles. Primitive camping, street style signs at trail/road intersections. Equestrians welcome, some restrictions during hunting season could apply.

Lexington Wildlife Management Area (405)527-6476
Lexington, OK. 9,432 acres located off Hwy 77 five miles south and six miles east of Noble, OK.  Primitive camping available.  No facilities except portapotty.  Picnic area by Dahlgren Lake. Closed to horses Oct 1-Feb 15 and April 6-May 6 due to hunting seasons.

Will Rogers Country Centennial Trail (918)443-2250
Oologah Lake oak-hickory forests and open meadows, experienced riders will enjoy the rugged trail segment which climbs Kite Hill. Abundant wildlife, trail is closed during deer gun season.

Stillwater, OK and East of 1-35 on 51, N. on 51C to Equestrian Camp. Primitive camping $8 per day. Ride fee $3 per day per vehicle. Wooded hills and open plains. Approximately 50 miles of trail. Annual family pass: $50  http://www.lcb.okstate.edu/EquestrianMap.htm  periodically updated map of the trails.
9 electric sites are available for $15 a night, lots of hydrants in the area for horse water and a gravel based drained wash rack area at the south end of camp.  There are also picket poles for up to 36 primitive sites at $10 a night, additional porta-potties are on site, there is over flow parking for event weekends and a full bath house within easy walking distance.  We have over 48 miles of marked saddle trail and a 13 mile harness trail also available to saddle horses for an easy ride.  More improvements are still coming, hope to see you there.  Any other information on the trails you can get at the camp store; or e-mail lcbrider@sbcglobal.net; or call Kate Kearby or Don Rubley at 405-373-1387. 

CITY PARKS WITH EQUESTRIAN FACILITIES

Arcadia Lake (405)359-4579 Edmond, OK
Entrance off 33rd Street and I-35 go east until 33rd dead ends at Air Depot. Turn south -- road dead ends at Equestrian parking lot. No facilities. Ride fee $4.00 per day. Approximately 10 miles of trail. Yearly pass $20. Edmond residents receive 20% discount. Open dawn until dusk daily. Horse shoes not necessary since it is mostly sandy and very little rocks. No facilities or water (just lake water).

Chandler, OK Flat Rock Trail has 11.8 miles. Red Bud Trail has 25.4 miles. Large campground well maintained. Electricity, picket poles, rest rooms and showers,

Duncan OK, east on Plato to Duncan Lake Rd. Right sign saying Duncan Lake concessions. Electricity, water, picnic tables, showers and comfort stations. Lots of trails, easy access, some not wooded, well marked round the lake. $10 per year or $2/day trail fee -pay at the concession. A map is available for free at the concession. Located in S.E. Oklahoma 5 miles east of Hugo on Hwy 70. Several thousand acres and miles of trails to explore from 1 March to Oct 1. Campground includes holding pens, water, electric, showers, swim beach and fishing and hunting opportunities.

Meeker, OK. W. 1 mile on Hwy 62 to Lake Rd. Primitive, no fee 8-10 miles of trail. Trails are boggy after a rain.

Prague Lake Recreational Area
Prague, OK Boating, fishing, RV and primitive camping, picnic areas, and more than 25 miles of equestrian and hiking trails. Shoreline length: 11 miles. Directions: 7 miles N of I-40, 3 miles W on Highway 62, 2 miles N on Lake Road, 1 mile E Fee $2 per horse. For more information, contact P

Sportsman Lake
Seminole, OK. 4 miles E. on Hwy 9 to FM360. 2 miles south to E.W. 124 then E to Equestrian turn-off. Approximately 33+ miles of trails. Wooded, rocks, hills, scenic area. Trail fee $2.50 per horse. 12 campsites with electricity and water-- $12.50. First come first served. Horses should be shod.

Stroud Lake, Stroud OK
Several miles of trails which wind around the lake. (approximately 15 miles) Easy riding; no shoes needed. Beautiful area. Great beach to swim at when you're done riding. Drive across lake dam for horse trails, or stop by the Lake Rangers trailer. Lake is north of Stroud. Easy access from Turner Turnpike.

Lake Oolagah
Several miles of trail, camping, water, electric, showers
The trail is called Will Rogers Centennial Trail. It is 13 miles in length.

Lake Waurika
Day ride only, several miles of trail.

Copan Lake
Day ride only, several miles of trail.
